CM Changelings 

Since the 1500's there have been countless reports and tales about changelings. A scary concept based around unknowingly having your child replaced by a greedy, selfish substitute.

 
European legends blamed the practice on goblins, fairies and elves. 

 
Today elves and the like have all but disappeared. However, the general practice of unseen change still thrives i.e. thanks to our own IT imp (the cowboy developer).

Note: Admittedly the above isn't really a CM thought, however the stories have some great punishments you can employ. I strongly recommend including a switch in the tool section of your CMP.
